Generally, engines with high power and high compression ratio choose cold spark plugs with high calorific value; On the contrary, engines with low power and low compression ratio choose hot spark plugs with low calorific value. Generally, the selection of spark plugs is determined by the factory through the product type test, and should not be replaced at will

Selection: select the spark plug to determine its calorific value according to the compression ratio, rotating speed and air-fuel ratio of the engine. The calorific value of commercial spark plugs ranges from 5 to 13. The higher the value, the colder the spark plug is, that is, the so-called cold type. The engine with high compression ratio needs to use cold type spark plugs. The smaller the value is, the more "hot" the spark plug is, that is, the hot spark plug should be used for engines with low compression ratio. The colder spark plug is more sophisticated than ordinary products, so it can ensure the accuracy and quality of ignition when the engine is running at high speed, so as to ensure the maximum power at the limit of the engine. In addition, its resistance is also controlled to be very small, and the number of fire jumps is not missing due to the increase of speed. Therefore, the use of spark plugs with higher values is of great benefit to the habit of increasing the engine speed.

Spark plug is an important component of gasoline engine ignition system. It can introduce high-voltage electricity into the combustion chamber and make it jump over the electrode gap to produce sparks, so as to ignite the combustible mixture in the cylinder. It is mainly composed of wiring nut, insulator, wiring screw, central electrode, side electrode and shell, and the side electrode is welded on the shell.

Working principle: under the action of high voltage, the air between the central electrode and the side electrode of the spark plug will rapidly ionize, forming positively charged ions and negatively charged free electrons. When the voltage between the electrodes reaches a certain value, the number of ions and electrons in the gas increases like an avalanche, so that the air loses its insulation, and the gap forms a discharge channel, resulting in a "breakdown" phenomenon. At this time, the gas forms a luminous body, that is, "spark". With its thermal expansion, it also produces a "snap" sound. The temperature of this electric spark can be as high as 2000 ~ 3000 ℃, which is enough to ignite the mixture in the cylinder combustion chamber
